Intex Avatar 2
Intex Avatar 2 Tablet (IT-M804RC) is an 8" tablet with fantastic full size USB host port, featuring 1.6GHz dual core processor at the very affordable price. Running Android 4.1.1 Jellybean, this table can be ROOTED!
The process is very simple. Anyway, rooting voids tablet warranty and you risk bricking your device. BUT, if you meet all the requirements (below), and do as exactly as I mentioned, I believe it's safe to root. Plus, rooting gives way for more features like cool theme and other cool stuffs to your tablet. So let's get started!
p.s. I don't work for Intex.

Goal:

Successfully root Intex Avatar 2 tablet

Difficulty:

Easy

Duration:

Approx. 15 minutes (excluding download time)

Requirement:

- USB Cable to PC (supplied on purchase)
- Intex Avatar 2 tablet (IT-M804RC) Jellybean, with at least 20% battery (or can be on for 20 minutes)
- PC: Windows XP, 7, or 8. Haven't tested on PC running older Windows.
- Internet connection for PC: Approx. 40 megabytes (Offline working is available)
- Internet connection for tablet: Approx. 10 megabytes (to download app from PlayStore)
- A cup of coffee: optional :)

I don't develop any of the softwares mentioned here. So all credit goes to their own respective developer. I just tailored everything specifically for Intex Avatar 2 tablet.

Tutorial in text

A- Install ADB driver

  1. Extract PDANet-32bit or -64bit ADB driver (file 1)
  2. Open file to install
  3. Click Next and Accept terms and conditions when it asks
  4. When it ask for phone selection, choose "Other"
  5. If there is Windows Security pops in showing something like the driver wasn't signed, click on "Install anyway". This is a normal process, don't worry.
  6. When it displays a dialogue reading "Please perform the following steps to complete the installations", go ahead to your tablet and turn it on if it is off; then, go to "Setting", "Developer options", turn it on and the "USB Debugging" to on as well. Then at "Setting", go to "Security" and check "Unknown Source".
  7. Plug your tablet to your PC using mini USB to PC supplied in the box
  8. Wait for Windows to install your tablet driver.
  9. The installation will continues itself when it detects your tablet.
  10. When it says "The installation completed", uncheck the three options, then click "Fnished"
ADB Driver installation finishes. :) And DO NOT unplug your cable yet cuz we'll go through the next step with it.

2- Root

  1. Install Shuam (file 2). Click on the big blue buttons, then when there are check boxes, uncheck them.
  2. Open Shuam (The blue S icon on your desktop)
  3. Click on the fourth tap (on the top), and the second row, 4th icon. Look at the picture below.
  4. The rooting process is pretty fast! It takes like 15 seconds or something
 Picture:

C- Replace the Chinese Super User app with English one

  1. Search and download "SuperSU" by chainfire in PlayStore
  2. Open it and choose "Normal" when it asks.
  3. When there's a dialogue box with Chinese letters pops out, click on the LEFT option.
  4. Now go to "Setting" (of SuperSU app)
  5. Tap "Install SuperSU to /system"
  6. Reboot your tablet. Now, when app asks for root permission, SuperSU handles this, not the Chinese app.
  7. Now we'll uninstall the Chinese app altogether.
  8. Search and download "Titanium Backup" from PlayStore. Open it.
  9. Grant root permission when it asks
  10. Tap on Uninstall/Backup from the top tab
  11. Scroll to find the Chinese app with the blue "S" icon, then tap it.
  12. Tap "Uninstall"
Voìla! Intex Avatar 2 tablet is now rooted and working pretty fine.

    1. Hi, Annonymous,
Links to ADB driver both for 32bit and 64bit PC work fine.

So if you don't know who to download, please, read below:
      1- Go to the link.
2- It will land you in AdF.ly page. (That page pays me. Anyway, I can't even earn 1$ per month. That's just my experiment with ads)
3- Wait for 5 seconds. Don't click anything (or read anything) during this 5 seconds.
4- You will see the "SKIP AD" in the yellow box at the top right of the page. Click it.
5- That will direct you to the needed file. Download begins now :)

  3. I know what for is AdF.ly, and ther's no problem. But when I get the final link, link to the specified file, server put me ZIP-file with 22 bytes. I think driver could be much bigger... :s

    2. I did everything like you said in this manual, but process blocked in phase "Installing PdaNet to your phone" in first step of yours. Got the message "Installer fail to open device", although I put USB debugging and installed USB driver and set up Network Driver in the same, first step.
Uncountable times I tried, with or without setting storage behavior (like mass Storage or Media device, like it's said in video tutorial)... :(

    3. Hi, anonymous.
Actually we don't need PDANet to be installed in your tablet. We only need adb drivers supplied with PDANet installation.
First, make sure you have "USB Debugging" and "Unknown Source" checked.
Plug USB cable to your tablet, then wait for your PC to finish installation.
      The do the rest.
      Hope you succeed :)

    4. But I can not continue. Process blocks in that phase and roll back; installation do the USB driver and do the network settings, and when come to PdaNet it blocks and roll back. I can't stop him in that moment and leave state as is (with USB driver and network settings).

So at the end, I don't have installed USB driver. :(

    5. Hi again. What Microsoft Windows you're using? If you use Vista or 7 or 8, try disable User Account Control first, and also your antivirus. Then, right click and "Run as administrator" on the driver installer. Your tablet should be in MTP for USB connection interface. Check whether your USB cable is working properly by transferring files between your tablet and your PC, and check if it works. Make sure your tablet is NOT connected to PC when you install the drivers, and connect only when it's time to do so. If everything still not getting through, you should use another PC to root your tablet :)

    6. Adding to my previous reply, you should try this: http://technosamigos.com/download-universal-adb-drivers-for-windows-8-lower-version/

    7. It's Win7 x64.
I already tried "Run as Administrator" and it wasn't work. :(
      Also disabling UAC ain't working.

At least, I found another PC (of my friend) I successfully passed whole process with installation. :)
So I run ROOT-software Shuame and passed that process successfully. I don't know if it's important to say or it's not, but there's one thing that is not described in your manual - binary update Super Su application after starting.Either way, I finished all process successfully; I hope so.
But I don't know is device rooted or not? I don't know how to check it. :(
I installed some software that demand root privileges (Droidwall, Atomic Clock,...) and they tell me they don't have root-privileges.
Anyway, I will repeat whole process again tomorrow, 'cause I have to take friends time (and his PC)...

    8. Yeah, it's Win7 x64 on friends PC, also.

    9. Would you try on a 32-bit PC? If your tablet got rooted, you have another new Chinese app in your drawer (apart from the blue shuam app). It's an SU from Chinese developer. You want to replace that with an SU app in English one. So, when you download SuperSU (by chainfire) and launch it, it will have some sort of dialogue box with two options appears. Choose the left one. This is a box asking you to give root permission to SuperSU app, and the left one is "Yes".

      Delete
    10. And if you already replaced with SuperSU (by chainfire), when you launch an app required root access, there should be a box asking you to give root permission, and sure, you have to allow it.

    1. Hi.
That device you mentioned is Avatar tablet. It isn't on Jellybeam. But the method to root here is very generic. So basically, you can try this method out. As you can see in my tutorial, it doesn't involve in changing firmware or other deep stuffs. It's safer than other method.
      Give it a try!
